Student Success, Accountable Spending, and a Safe Learning Environment
I want our students to be successful. I recognize, and all the research tells us, that the most important factor in student success is the teacher. I believe we need to focus on recruiting and retaining High Quality Teachers by fostering a climate that promotes growth opportunities, cultivates collaboration and values our teachers so teaching can be a sustainable career option. As an educator with 20 years of experience, I have worked as a teacher, a school counselor, an assistant principal and a district administrator I understand how important it is for a student to have a great teacher.
I think before we spend more money on programs and partnerships, it is important to first determine how effective they are. As an expert, who has evaluated educational programs and policies, I will work with other board members to ensure we are closely investigating the implications of policy before voting.
We need all of our Schools to be places where our students are more than proficient they are thriving. As a parent, I want our schools to be to be safe learning environments where students developing a love of learning. I will advocate for standards and policies that support a safe learning environment where all of our kids will thrive.
We would love to hear from you.
